In the know

I've spent over a decade at Amazon building products, developing teams, and helping customers innovate on AWS. For the past 3 and a half years, I’ve co-authored a weekly newsletter for my team in my role as a technical advisor. Part of the newsletter includes a section called “In the know”, which gives our team updates on current events in and around technology and science. My role requires a lot of reading and research, and writing these updates for our team helps me form opinions and break down complex topics so that we can make informed decisions and stay on top of industry trends.

I'm bringing expanded versions of some of those updates here, often with deeper analysis and commentary. I hope you find these interesting and useful and contribute to the conversations.

I wrote an AI transparency tool to track how often I use AI in my writing. You can download it here: https://github.com/jbnunn/substack-ai-transparency-tracker

Thoughts, opinions, errors, and em dashes are my own.
